Potato Soup -- Grandma's

3 medium red potatoes, diced
1 small onion, minced
3 tbs butter
3 tbs flour
3 c. milk
1/2 tsp sugar
1 c cheddar cheese, shredded

Boil potatoes and boil until tender. Drain, reserving liquid.

Saute onion in butter until tender, then stir in flour. Gradually add
the potatoes then 1 c. cooking liquid, milk, sugar and cheese

Simmer 30 min, optionally garnish with parsley.
