From an RDBMS perspective, nullable columns in your primary key are pretty gackish, even if the particular database _does_ support it. You're saying "I need this thing to be able to uniquely identify an entity, but it's OK if it isn't there." That gives me quite a bit of cognitive dissonance 8^})
